Item description from the seller
Types of hammocks and how to use them
A hammock is a lightweight and easy-to-carry sleeping device for outdoor activities.Depending on the material used in manufacturing, they can be divided into fabric hammocks and rope hammocks. The former is usually sewn from thin canvas or nylon fabric, while the latter is woven from cotton or nylon rope.Rope hammocks are particularly suitable for tropical jungles and hot summers, while fabric hammocks are more versatile and can be used in all seasons except in cold regions and during winter.
The tree used to hang the hammock should be relatively thick, so that the tree trunk does not deform under the weight of the human body. This is mainly for the sake of protecting the tree.
If you are using a hammock simply for temporary rest in the wild, there is no need to tie it very tightly. If you are camping outdoors using a hammock, you should try to straighten and tighten the hammock as much as possible. When a person sleeps on a hammock, due to their weight, the hammock will sag and bend significantly. The person sleeping on the hammock will also bend their body, which becomes very uncomfortable over time. Straightening and tightening the hammock as much as possible can reduce the degree of sagging, making sleep more comfortable. Also, don't tie the hammock too high; a height of 1.0m above the ground is more suitable, as this makes it easier to get in and out of the hammock.
Since hammocks are not an independent, enclosed system like tents, sleeping outdoors in a hammock poses a problem in terms of protection from mosquito bites and rain.In fact, with a little thought, these two problems can be easily solved.
Rain protection: When sleeping outdoors, prepare a plastic sheet slightly longer than the hammock and about 2m wide. When it rains, place the sheet over the hammock's tension cords so that it covers the hammock, which provides good rain protection.
Prevention of mosquito and insect bites: Prepare a piece of gauze of appropriate size and place it on one end of the camper's head in the same way as the film is placed. Use clothespins to secure the gauze to the hammock, and this will help prevent mosquito and insect bites on the head. Wrap a cotton swab soaked in insecticide solution into a circle and tie it to the ropes at both ends of the hammock, or spray insecticide directly onto the top and bottom ends of the hammock's ropes to prevent ants, spiders, centipedes, and other insects from crawling into the hammock.
